2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are younger, you may still read the site but you may not register, comment, post, or subscribe to the newsletter without verifiable parental consent.
3. Accounts
- You are responsible for keeping your password and any two-factor secrets safe.
- One person, one account. Don't impersonate someone else.
- We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms, with notice where reasonably possible.
- You can delete your account at any time from the account settings page or by emailing us.
4. Site content and contributions
All articles, images, graphics, design, code and original editorial content published on Cryptocity are owned by Cryptocity and protected by copyright and trademark law. Writers and contributors publishing on Cryptocity do so on behalf of the site under a paid engagement, and assign all rights in their contributions to Cryptocity (except for any pre-existing materials they explicitly retain in writing).
Comments, profile information and social links you submit as a reader remain yours. By posting them on Cryptocity you grant Cryptocity a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, distribute and promote them on the site and in our newsletter for as long as you keep them published. This licence ends when you delete the content, except for copies we may need to keep for legal or backup reasons for a reasonable period.
5. Prohibited conduct
- No illegal content, hate speech, harassment, doxxing, or threats.
- No spam, scams, undisclosed paid promotion, or affiliate manipulation.
- No malware, scraping at scale, or attempts to break the site's security.
- No content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, or privacy.
6. Intellectual property
The Cryptocity name, logo, design, and original editorial content are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may quote short excerpts with attribution and a link back, but please don't republish full articles without written permission.
7. Third-party links and content
We link to external sites, services and projects. We don't control them and we're not responsible for their content, terms, or privacy practices. Follow links at your own discretion.
8. Donations
Donations made through the site (PayPal, crypto wallets, or other listed channels) are voluntary gifts to support our work. They are not payments for goods or services, are not refundable, and don't entitle the donor to specific content, removal of advertising, or any other consideration.
9. Gamification, points and rewards
Cryptocity runs a gamification programme: registered users can earn experience points (XP) for activity such as posting their first comment on a post or sharing a post, level up, and accumulate redeemable points. Points have no cash value, are not your property, are not transferable between accounts, and cannot be exchanged outside the channels we provide on the site.
- Rewards catalog — points can be redeemed for items listed in the rewards catalog (such as gift codes or game keys). Availability, stock and point cost can change at any time. Redemptions are reviewed manually and may be rejected if abuse is suspected.
- FaucetPay payouts — where enabled, points can be converted into cryptocurrency and sent to your FaucetPay account at the conversion rate shown on the rewards page at the time of redemption. Conversion uses the live market price; the final amount you receive depends on network conditions and FaucetPay's own terms.
- No guarantee of value — the points-to-USD rate, reward catalog, XP rates and level curve can be adjusted or discontinued at any time. We will give reasonable notice of material changes where possible.
- Anti-abuse — creating multiple accounts, automating activity, fake comments, vote/share manipulation, or any attempt to game the XP or points system will result in the affected XP, points, redemptions and accounts being voided or closed without refund.
- Tax — you are solely responsible for any tax reporting or liabilities arising from rewards or crypto payouts you receive in your jurisdiction.
10. Premium membership
Cryptocity may offer optional premium membership in exchange for a one-off payment or recurring subscription, paid via the providers listed at checkout (such as PayPal, Stripe or crypto processors). Premium unlocks the additional features advertised on the premium page at the time of purchase. As premium is a digital service supplied immediately with your express consent, you acknowledge that the 14-day EU right of withdrawal is lost once access has been granted. We may suspend premium access for breach of these terms; we may also discontinue or change premium features with reasonable notice.
11. Advertising
Cryptocity is partly funded by third-party advertising, including display ads (e.g. Google AdSense) and native ad widgets placed alongside editorial content. Ads are clearly distinguishable from editorial content. We do not control which specific ads are shown to you; that is decided by the ad networks based on the consent choices you make in our cookie banner. 12. No financial advice
Everything on Cryptocity is published for general information only. It is not investment, financial, legal, or tax advice. Some news and explainer articles on Cryptocity are AI-assisted; we make reasonable efforts to verify them, but you should still treat all content as informational and confirm important facts independently. Crypto assets are volatile and you can lose everything you put in. Do your own research and consult a licensed professional before making decisions.
13. Disclaimer of warranties
The site is provided "as is". We do our best to keep it accurate, available and secure, but we make no warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Cryptocity is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the site, including any loss of points, XP, level progress, pending redemptions, or undelivered FaucetPay payouts caused by third-party services, network conditions or account misuse. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, for gross negligence or intent, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under EU or your national consumer law.
15. Termination
You may stop using the site at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms or if we need to for legal, security, or operational reasons. On termination, any unredeemed points, pending redemptions and premium time may be forfeited.
16. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of European Union, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you reside. If you are an EU consumer, you can also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
17. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the current version. Material changes will be announced on the site or by email where appropriate.
